What's new? Well the most exciting thing is that I am finally updating this website! It is Spring of 2011, and I just couldn't tell you where the time goes.

Aside from that, I guess the greatest challenge lately has been the economy, and maneuvering a successful business in this climate. Thankfully, Lawton has done very well compared to much of the country. Our population contimues to grow, and citizens and city leaders are all excited about the growth plans that seem to be in the works.

We at Salas are excited to see new faces in our restaurant, just as we are always thrilled to be blessed with such a strong customer base, customers who have been coming to Salas since before EVEN I was born. We still are the same Mexican restaurant that we were 60 years ago, in that our recipes haven't changed, and we make all our food from scratch, fresh every day.

As food prices go all over the place, we have actually lowered and mainstreamed our pricing, so that we can continue to be the best value in town, affordable for families, while offering options that will appeal to kids, teenagers, young and old alike, and keep you craving for more!

We now offer a habanero salsa, which is full-bodied and delicious, but not for the faint of heart. That makes four salsas we offer now, our regular red sauce, which is thick and spicy (still my favorite!), Inferno sauce, again, very hot with chunks of avacado in it, and our green mild, for those of you who can't tolerate the heat.

We recently dropped a few of the items on our menu that weren't selling, which was making it harder for us to achieve our number one goal, consistency. We have gone back to basics on our menu, even bringing back an old favorite, the Steak and Potato Burrito, which is a big hit. I think absence made the heart grow fonder. :)

Don't forget that we have Menudo every weekend, until we run out, and every Saturday we offer a military discount. We have a full-service bar, and the best margaritas in town! Of course, we have our same Lunch Specials Wed-Sat that start at $4.99, and Wednesday and Thursday nights are great family nights, because we offer our best-selling dish, the Deluxe Mexican Dinner, for $5.50, and kids get a Child Taco or Child Enchilada for only $1.99. Sundays are fajita nights, with our Fajita-For-Two Special, for only $13.99. (Lunch specials run 11-2, and the dinner special price starts at 5pm.)

And BY THE WAY, we are still Southwest Oklahoma's PREMIERE CATERER. We can handle parties from 10-500, offering both Mexican and American food. Check out our menus on this site, and some of the pictures I've uploaded. Ask anyone about our professional service, fabulous food and presentation!

At Salas' we never lose sight that our customers know better than anyone else how things are supposed to work! Please contact Julia Salas through the restaurant at 580-357-1600. Remember that we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. You can also email us at salasmanager@yahoo.com. We definitely want to hear any comments or suggestions you may have.

If you're coming in for the first time, please take the time to say hello! And to all of you, thanks for your support and loyalty!
